The Kerala Education Rules, 1950, in chapter XIV, in sub rule (a) of
rule 6, after the opening sentence “The teachers appointed under rule 3
shall be on probation for a total period of one year on duty within a
continuous period of two years”, the following sentence shall be
inserted namely:- “Such teachers shall, within the period of probation,
pass short term computer course having a duration of not less than 45
hours approved by the Government if they have not already acquired such
